Elevated Feeding Stations for Large Breed Dogs

When it comes to feeding a large breed dog, it's important to choose a feeding station that is sturdy, comfortable for the dog, and easy to clean. Here are some options you might consider:

  1. Elevated feeding station: This type of feeding station is raised off the ground to reduce strain on your dog's neck and back while eating. Elevated feeding stations come in various heights to suit your dog's size and are usually made of wood or metal.

  2. Raised dog bowl: A raised dog bowl is a standalone bowl that can be placed on the floor or on a raised platform. These bowls are generally made of stainless steel or ceramic and can be adjusted to different heights.

  3. Slow feeder bowl: For large breed dogs that tend to eat too fast, a slow feeder bowl can be helpful. These bowls are designed with raised ridges or maze-like designs to slow down your dog's eating pace.

  4. Automatic feeder: An automatic feeder can be a good option if you're not always around to feed your dog at specific times. These feeders can be programmed to dispense food at certain times, and some even come with a portion control feature to help manage your dog's diet.

I bought my Australian Shepherd Luna an elevated feeding station with dry food storage. It holds up to 50 pounds of dry food. I put Luna's entire bag of Wildology dry dog food inside the storage area. It has two stainless steel bowls. It’s called Gamma2 Vittles Vault. It’s made by Petmate and is made in Arlington, Texas! Luna and I highly recommend it!

Ultimately, the best feeding station for your large breed dog will depend on your dog's specific needs and preferences. It's a good idea to consult with your veterinarian or pet care professional for guidance on selecting the right feeding station for your furry friend.
